Bang Bang - Music Review

Bang Bang is the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood movie Knight & Day (Tom Cruise & Cameron Diaz).

This is Hrithik’s big budget release this year. Produced by Fox Star Studios, is directed by Siddharth Anand.

The first promo managed to create a lot of buzz and the lead pair look smashing together.

Music is by Vishal-Shekhar who have composed for every movie of Siddharth Anand till now.

1. Tu meri - Vishal-Shekhar are among the best in business when it comes to contemporary sound. This one is inspired by the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) genre. A foot tapping dance along tune, and add Hrithik’s dance steps, it can’t go wrong. The hook is stretched a bit by Vishal, but that’s a minor glitch in this otherwise tailor made Hrithik special track.

Rating - 3.5/5

2. Meherbaan - A lovely melody arranged V+S style. If you enjoyed Khuda Jaane from Bachna Ae Haseeno, you’re going to like this one too. The video does wonders to the song and it looks even better on the screen. Ash King & Shilpa Rao are at ease with their vocals. The reprise version by Shekhar is rather better at places than the first version.

Rating - 4/5

3. Uff - A feel good lively song, bound to bring a smile on your face the moment you hear it. The trademark V+S punch is there in the beats. But for me, the track belongs to Harshdeep Kaur and Benny Dayal. They sound lovely together. Making a simple melody sound lively is something V+S have been good at over the years, they tweak their arrangements with new sounds and usually get it right.

Rating - 3.5/5

4. Bang Bang - The showpiece of the soundtrack and the movie. The 80’s retro disco sound with modern elements are super cool. Benny Dayal & Neeti Mohan are superb behind the mic. The video of the track makes it a perfect package. Hrithik dances like a dream and you see nothing but him when he is on the screen. The Michael Jackson tribute by him is a treat to watch. Daft Punk nailed the retro disco sound in Get Lucky last year, this year we have V+S and their team nail it in one of their best designed song.

Rating - 5/5

Vishal Shekhar have given some of their best music for Siddharth Anand, and the record continues with this one. All the songs are going to be popular, though there is no doubt the title track will steal all the thunder.

Surprisingly this is the first time V+S have composed for a Hrithik movie, and the result is fabulous.

This one’s a bang for your buck.

Overall Rating - 4/5

My pick : The whole soundtrack :)

even if you don’t watch this interview; let me just point out this part:

at 5:37, katrina says that one review written of her was so ridiculous (obviously it was criticizing her no duh what else do people do), that she actually called up the reviewer - wait for it; because she wanted to praise him since it was so well-written. she actually called up the reviewer because she was laughing so hard at his satire, and the reviewer said, i don’t believe you’re katrina and she said, haha no i am katrina.

bruh if you still don’t like katrina offscreen, i don’t know what to tell you.
